Yu-Gi-Yo! (Yo!)
One of my friends recently has taken a huge interest in yo-yos. So much, that over the span of a month, he has over eight different yo-yos of different brands and quality. While he was showing me the tricks he learned with his yo-yos, I thought of an awesome idea – a comic series based on yo-yos, where people do battle with their own customized yo-yos, and fight to the death(?).
I talked to one of my friends to draw me some concept art since he owed me a few favors, and I present to you, Yu-Gi-Yo!, yes, a blatent parody ripoff of Yu-Gi-Oh!. As you can see, he’s a complete badass.
This is our yet-to-be-named protagonist, representing the company “Funcun” (yes, a spoof of the Duncan company that makes yo-yos).

His gimmick is an ancient yo-yo artifact, analogous to the millenium puzzle found in Yu-Gi-Oh!. He can make use of his artifact by slotting it directly into any yo-yo he uses to transform into his alter-ego, a more-powerful form, who represents an ancient king who was once the king of yo-yo battles:

… yeah, I think that’s where I’ll end the idea for this comic series. I’m sure you’ve guessed that I’ve watched Yu-Gi-Oh! in the past to concieve of this atrocity.
Thanks goes out to my friend, David Akin for drawing the art, and Chris Schmidt for inspiring the idea with his crazy yo-yos.
