Chemistry – Intro to Orbitals
I’m studying chemistry in the free time I have, and I’ve been having difficulties understanding orbitals. However, I came across this pretty nifty guide that worked out for me:
Clever Advertising – State Parrot
I have to say that I’m pretty amazed at this piece of advertising I’ve been seeing around the web. It was popping up on a few tech sites I frequently visit, and at first I didn’t really understand why the site would have some silly campaign about a parrot for state bird, so I felt compelled to visit the ad.
The company that created the Parrot line of hands free devices created this online campaign where a parrot is running to be state bird of California. For context: By July 1st, California is banning talking on cells without a hands free device while driving. I guess all handset manufacturers are quite happy about this new law, as it directly benefits them (and I guess driver’s safety as well). It’s not obvious at all what the ad is really about until you get into the website and go, “Ohhh Parrot products!”
One reason to download Internet Explorer 8 (IE8)
Is that Microsoft finally wised up and built in their own Firebug-like debugging area. It’s not completely like Firebug, but it’s better than using Visual Studio or no debugger at all.
I hate Internet Explorer, but it can’t be helped as the platform our software runs on is IE-based. We’re doing our best to have Firefox compatibility as well, however.
If you have to work with IE frequently, or need to debug it and cannot afford Visual Studio, I strongly recommend downloading the beta. Another cool feature is that you can switch to IE7 emulation on the fly, since IE8 and IE7 are quite different in terms of rendering.
